James is the main character of Silent Hill 2. Three years ago, his beloved wife fell ill and passed away. At the start of the movie, James is wasting his life away, spending empty days mourning the loss of his wife. Suddenly a strange letter arrives. The sender's name is Mary Shepherd-Sunderland, the name of his late wife. Although he knows his wife couldn't possibly still be alive, something about the letter catches his imagination. So he makes his way to their favorite old holiday destination, Silent Hill.
 

Looks exactly like James’s late wife, Mary. However, her hairstyle and taste in clothes are completely different. Her personality, cheerful and energetic, is also a little different from Mary’s. When she first meets James, she speaks to him with surprising intimacy. She takes an interest in his search for a place of memories, and joins him.
 

A little girl, who has a habit of suddenly showing up around James, does whatever she wants and makes a quick exit. She was a patient in the same hospital as James’s wife, Mary. They became close and Mary loved her as her own daughter.
 

Meets James in a cemetery: appropriate as there’s something shadowy and unnerving about her ... Since she was a child, Angela has been convinced that she can never be happy. Shortly after graduating from high school, Angela ran away from home, but her father found her and dragged her back against her will. She tried again to run away, and went missing somewhere around Silent Hill.
 

A simple-minded, clumsy, and useless man. He is deeply terrified of getting hurt. He has a gentle, quiet personality, but possesses another side that he cannot control when he is angry.
